This release of Cosmos includes the following improvements:

• Improved Report Run Speed for Larger Reports (6x - 12x Faster)
• Users Can Check Out or Edit Reports Directly in Excel Desktop
• Added Filename Constraints to Match SharePoint Requirements

Improved Report Run Speed for Larger Reports (6x - 12x Faster)

We have completed a round of optimizations to the reporting engine which has resulted in many larger reports now running 6x - 12x faster. 

Users Can Check Out or Edit Reports Directly in Excel Desktop

We received feedback from several customers that they wanted to be able to open Cosmos reports for editing directly in Excel Desktop instead of first needing to open them in Excel Online. As part of this release, we have added the ability for users to check a report out using Excel Desktop or, for a report that already exists in the user's Workspace, to edit the report in Excel Desktop. This will open the file directly in your desktop version of Excel without needing to open it in Excel Online first.

Added Filename Constraints to Match SharePoint Requirements

When working with Cosmos files they are stored behind the scenes in your organization's SharePoint site; there were times, however, when users would name files with special characters that were not supported by SharePoint. We have added some filename constraints to prevent users from creating or renaming files that then wouldn't be able to be opened in SharePoint.
