Overview
The Settings button in the Cosmos Excel Add-In provides the user with several settings to enable more control over the report authoring process.
This article covers each of the available settings and how to use them.
Details
When creating or modifying a report, there a several settings that can be adjusted to tailor the report authoring process to each Report Editor's specific needs.
The user will access the settings by clicking on the Settings button on the Cosmos tab of the Excel ribbon. They will then see the settings outlined below.
The Settings window will open and display the General settings.
General
Dark Mode: This will allow the user to enable and disable dark mode.
Benchmark Data Model: This will allow the user to use the Cosmos benchmarking data model.
Drilldown: This will allows users to have the ability to drilldown into reports. This is turned on and off at the report level.
Captain Cosmos: This enables the Captain Cosmos feature within the Cosmos Task Pane. This setting cannot be turned off.
Region Override: Region Override allows internal users to direct their requests to a specific Cosmos Region.
Preview Features: Synchronize with Cosmos feature management.
Authoring
The Authoring section can be accessed by clicking on the hamburger menu icon in the upper-left hand corner of the Settings window.
There are two sections in the Authoring tab, Focus and Preview Report.
Current Sheet: If this setting is enabled, content displayed in the Task Pane will only be shown for the sheet that the user is currently viewing. If the setting is disabled, the user will see content for all sheets.
Current Section: If this setting is enabled, content displayed in the Task Pane will only be shown for the cell(s) that the user has selected in the report. This can be very useful to only see content relevant to the current selection. If the box is disabled, the user will see content for all fields.
Preview Diagnostics: Enabling Preview Diagnostics will allow you to track detailed insights from the report engine.
