There are certain circumstances where a Report Editor may want to limit the number of results being returned by a Range List. This could be for testing, where the user wants to only return a small number of records, or when there is a specific business case where the user only wants one hundred values returned, for example.
Details
Limiting the number of results that are being returned is something that needs to be set on the Range List, since the Range List is the function that is controlling what is being returned into the report.
Adding a Limit to a Range List
To add a limit to a Range List, the user will select the desired Range List in the Cosmos Tasks Pane within the Range List tab and then expand the Data section of the Range List.
To apply a limit to the Range List, the user would then click on the Limit field. Then the user will specify the number of values to be returned by the Range List.
In the example below, the user has specified that only 5 customers should be returned by the Range List when the report is run.
The resulting report run would look like the following:
Removing a Limit from a Range List
To disable the limiting of values for a Range List, the user would select the desired Range List, go to the Data section and delete the number that was placed in the Limit field and click SAVE.
