When clicking the Migrate button in the Administration section there may be an error if you do not have the appropriate permissions. This article will cover how to resolve the two most common errors.

Issue #1: "Need Admin Approval" Error Message

This occurs when the person clicking the Grant Consent button on the Migration page does not have the Administration role in Microsoft Entra. This is required in order to accept Entra permissions. You will want to have a user log in with this role. If no Cosmos users have this role please reach out to your Cosmos contact and we will work with you to get a user added temporarily.

Issue #2: "Failed to Migrate Fully" Error Message

If you receive this error message it means that you were able to successfully accept the Entra permissions but don't have the needed permissions in SharePoint. To fix this:

• Navigate to the Microsoft Admin Center
• Click "Show All" in the lower left-corner
• Click "SharePoint" under Admin Centers
• Click Active Sites
• Search for "Cosmos" to find the Cosmos site.
• Click the Site Name to the left (not the URL)
• Click the Membership tab
• Add your account to the Site Admins section

You should now be able to go back and click the Grant Consent button in the Cosmos Portal.
